President Ilham Aliyev met ICESCO Director-General Salim bin Mohammed AlMalik in Baku, with talks covering education, humanitarian projects and Azerbaijan’s role in strengthening Islamic solidarity.

Aliyev said Azerbaijan would continue supporting initiatives across the Islamic world as it prepares to host the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation summit next year and assume its chairmanship.

AlMalik also praised the country’s hosting of the 7th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue and thanked Baku for its continued support for ICESCO.

But Moscow says the discussion remains on the table.

Kremlin spox. Dmitry Peskov said no date has been set for the highly-anticipated 3-way talks, after Russia and Ukraine accepted a U.S. proposal for technical-level negotiations.

Peskov also said he could neither confirm nor deny reports of preparations for Putin to speak with the leaders of Finland and Norway.

Meanwhile, Moscow says it has received no reports of violations of the ceasefire that began Tuesday to allow a humanitarian operation in Oleshky.

The trilateral has been proposed and accepted, now the key question is when the 3 actually sit down…
