Eleven carriers on paper, but only four deployed, three in the shipyard and one stuck in port after a crash… here’s where every one stands:
-USS George Washington: The Japan-based carrier is now the ONLY one covering operations against Iran, holding in the Arabian Sea.
-USS George H.W. Bush: Pulled into Phuket after 188 straight days at sea, after sailing around Africa to avoid the Red Sea on the way in.
-USS Abraham Lincoln: Home this week after 321 to 322 days, the second-longest deployment of the modern era, with at least 8 suicide attempts across its strike group.
-USS Theodore Roosevelt: Headed to the Middle East, which could briefly put three carriers in the region again.
-USS Gerald R. Ford: Still holds the record at 326 days, set when it left the region in May.
-USS Dwight D. Eisenhower: Back in Norfolk after its arresting gear failed and a Growler went overboard, with both crew rescued.
-USS Ronald Reagan: Just back from a 17-month overhaul, now in San Diego with a new command center for the MQ-25 tanker drone.
-USS Harry S. Truman: Entering a $5.1 billion mid-life nuclear refueling overhaul.
-USS John C. Stennis: Still finishing the same overhaul it started in 2021, with no return date announced.
-USS John F. Kennedy: The newest Ford-class carrier is 99% finished, with delivery planned for spring 2027.
So how long can the Navy keep one carrier per war zone running on fumes?
Every deployment pushed past 300 days means longer repairs and tired crews later, and that bill lands on the fleet for years after this war ends… whenever that is🤷♂️

At Ai Everything Abu Dhabi, we explore how AI is moving from algorithms and models into the technologies shaping everyday life, from digital government to Arabic-focused AI.
The question now is not only what AI can do, but how well it can work for the people who use it.
Alisultan Sultanzade reports from Abu Dhabi, UAE.
