🇺🇸🇲🇽 TRUMP’S DRUG WAR MAY BE PUSHING MEXICAN CARTELS STRAIGHT INTO AFRICA
Authorities have uncovered suspected cartel-linked meth labs in Algeria, South Africa, Mozambique and Kenya, while one expert estimates Mexican-linked operations may now be active in at least 15 African countries.
The shift is simple: squeeze cartels hard enough in Latin America, and they look for somewhere else to operate.
Africa gives them weaker enforcement pressure, access to Europe and Australia, and huge profit margins on meth. What used to be mainly a transit route is increasingly becoming a production base.
Trump’s crackdown has included strikes on suspected drug boats, U.S. support for raids on Mexican labs, and pressure on cartel leadership.
The result may be a classic balloon effect: crush the business in one region, and it bulges out somewhere else.
Now Africa could be dealing with the fallout.
