FBI announces charges against 26 alleged Trinitarios members in Massachusetts

Federal authorities announced a takedown of the Trinitarios gang in Massachusetts, charging 26 alleged members and associates in a federal racketeering case that investigators say is connected to five murders, 19 attempted murders, armed home invasions, drug trafficking and firearms offenses across New England.

The charges were unveiled during a news conference Tuesday in Boston attended by officials from the U.S. Attorney’s Office, the FBI, Massachusetts State Police and local law enforcement agencies.

“The Trinitarios have wreaked havoc and instilled fear in our communities,” U.S. Attorney Leah Foley said. “That ends today.”

🇨🇦 Canadian PM Carney appointed Omar Alghabra, a politician who once said he “didn’t believe that Hamas wants the elimination of Israel” and who objected to describing the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades as a terrorist organization, to a new federal advisory council on antisemitism. The appointment comes as Carney himself admits that “Canada’s civic compact is failing Jewish Canadians” amid rising antisemitism across the country. Another member appointed to the council, lawyer Avnish Nanda, previously represented anti-Israel encampment activists at the University of Alberta, where slogans such as “globalize the intifada” were reportedly displayed during demonstrations.

US begins new ‘self-defense strikes’ against Iran after Apache helicopter goes down

President Trump directed the U.S. to begin new “self-defense strikes” on Iran Tuesday, in response to Iran downing a U.S. helicopter on Monday.

“The mission is a proportional response to unjustified Iranian aggression,” U.S. Central Command wrote on social media.

President Trump vowed to retaliate after claiming Iran shot down a U.S. military helicopter patrolling near the Strait of Hormuz on Monday.

“There were two pilots involved. Both are safe and uninjured,” Trump said in a post about their rescue.
