“We’re not in Gaza because we have great colonialist impulses. It’s ridiculous.
We’re in Gaza to make sure that they don’t launch from this terrorist bastion more attacks on us. And that’s why we’re in Gaza.”
By that logic, Putin can hold onto Ukraine as a “security buffer zone”

Asked directly whether the intention is still to give it all back, he answered with a flat no, saying the goal is to make sure October 7 never happens again.
When the interviewer pressed him a second time, Netanyahu said no again.
“My goal right now is to make sure that the Hamas terrorists who are still in Gaza… don’t have the capacity to do another attack.”
That sounds a lot more like a long-term occupation than a temporary security zone.
