Christa Pike in ‘critical condition’ after Tennessee’s failed execution attempt, lawyers say


Christa Pike’s attorneys said she is “alive right now” and receiving life-saving medical care, one day after a failed execution attempt in Tennessee.

In a news conference on Thursday, the attorneys detailed what happened during Pike’s execution attempt on Wednesday. Tennessee officials were unable to put Pike to death for a 1995 murder after administering two doses of a lethal drug.

She would have been the first woman executed in Tennessee in more than 200 years.
