Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has halted the state’s remaining executions for the year after a failed attempt to execute death row inmate Christa Gail Pike. Officials administered two doses of a lethal injection drug, but Pike survived the procedure, according to her attorneys. President Donald Trump said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu told him an “amazing” story about a plumber who saved an Israeli-bound FlyDubai plane from crashing.

Passengers on a plane from Dubai to Tel Aviv say they wrestled with the copilot who stabbed the captain as the plane dove sharply before making an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia, It was not clear what had motivated the attack.

Speaking to reporters in the Oval Office, Trump said he and Netanyahu discussed the incident “at length” over the telephone Wednesday and that it seemed as though the copilot “was perhaps a terrorist or perhaps a whack job. And, he stabbed the pilot.”

Trump said the pilot managed to open the cockpit door despite his wounds and his screams were heard by an Israeli plumber on board who, “having never flown a plane, he took the stick, lifted it up and leveled out the plane before it crashed.”

“Now this is the story that I heard. I don’t know if it’s true, but that’s the story that I got from Bibi,” Trump said.

Trump said the plumber later explained that he learned to fly an airplane by watching an “unbelievably crazy” TV show about air disasters.

“I think it’s the most amazing story,” Trump said.
