It’s OFFICIAL: Canada JUST Ended America’s Oil Discount & Trump Can’t Stop It! Canada News Today: Mark Carney fast-tracks the Pacific Link oil pipeline to send 1 million barrels a day to Asia. This is breaking news in the Trump-Canada trade war. Mark Carney has made Pacific Link a project of national interest under the Building Canada Act. That happened on the same day Trump’s trade representative Jamieson Greer insisted Canada could never replace the American market. Today about 3.9 million of Canada’s 4.3 million barrels a day go to the United States. Pacific Link alone would carry more than twice what Canada sells to every other customer combined. Ottawa is also putting $10 billion into Roberts Bank and projects 140,000 jobs as Trans mountain leads development. Meanwhile, the G20 trade talks in Milwaukee produced nothing, Washington is pressuring Europe to release its diesel reserves or face export tax, and Canadian exports outside the U.S. jumped 11.1%. We explain why America’s cheap Canadian oil is coming to an end.

Our Analysis Includes:
🇨🇦 Why Canada wins the oil fight: Pacific Link would send 1 million barrels a day to Asia under Canadian and Indigenous ownership.
⚡ Trump’s leverage backfires: Greer says Canada can’t replace America, and on the same day Ottawa fast-tracks a pipeline that ends America’s oil discount.
📈 Canada’s investment edge: $10 billion for Roberts Bank, 140,000 projected jobs, and a 6.4% tax rate on new investment versus 16.9% in the U.S.
🎯 Trade talks stall: the G20 in Milwaukee produced nothing, while Canadian exports outside the U.S. jumped 11.1% in 2025.
🌍 Pattern proof: Washington is pressuring Europe to release its emergency diesel reserves, and that’s why buyers want reliable suppliers.
🔥 Defiance proof: 67% of Canadians see fast building as a sovereignty issue, Carney’s Liberals project 215 seats, and Canadian travel to the U.S. fell from 3 million trips to 2.3 million.

The latest NASA mission has successfully carried US, Russian and Canadian crew to the International Space Station. The near-eight-hour journey set a record for a US craft to reach the ISS, and set an example for global cooperation in space, at a time of war and tension on earth. The space station itself has been tipped as a potential winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, which is announced in a few days. DW’s Gerhard Elfers talks to Professor Kai-Uwe Schrogl, political affairs advisor to the European Space Agency, about how the ISS has survived geopolitical crises. This mission is headed by astronaut Jessica Watkins, a trailblazer for women in spaceflight. Aerospace engineer Claudia Kessler tells us why we need more women in space.
