Oil trade’s shipping bottleneck threatens a fresh wave of inflation

The rise in oil prices on world markets is showing no sign of stopping. Growing security concerns in the Middle East and rising tanker freight rates are putting additional pressure on the global energy market. It is important to understand that a key factor is the risk that oil may not reach buyers on time, while transportation costs continue to rise significantly.

🇺🇸🇦🇫 TUCKER ASKED: WHY WOULD THE U.S. GOVERNMENT EVER WANT HEROIN FLOWING? Matt Cubbler argued that drugs are an effective way to weaken populations and said he believes narcotics were used strategically during the Afghanistan war. Tucker pushed the point further, suggesting that if you want to control people, getting them addicted is one brutally simple way to do it.

Cubbler described allegations involving a SEAL unit, including the rape of an Afghan girl, stolen CIA-linked money, drug trafficking, poppy fields and a commander who wanted to report what was happening.

He also said the commander had a heated confrontation with senior leadership shortly before his death.

Cubbler was clear that he does not have direct proof of what that argument was about. His theory is that the commander wanted to expose everything and was being pressured to stay quiet if he wanted to keep his career on track.

More than a decade into Afghanistan, he believes the mission had become something very different from the war Americans were originally told they were fighting.

🇺🇸 🇮🇷 Investors priced in a fast win over Iran… and the war ran far longer than markets expected. One week in, Peter Schiff warned that markets were betting on a quick US victory, and said he expected a drawn out fight instead. He says that part of his call held up, even though several of his market predictions missed. His takeaway is that every Middle East war gets sold as short and clean, and investors keep believing it every time. That lesson matters even more with talk of a third round once the midterms are over. @PeterSchiff

Mario Nawfal (@MarioNawfal)🇨🇳 🇺🇸 China keeps swapping dollars for gold… and could one day use it to back a rival reserve currency.

Peter Schiff argues Beijing sees gold as stronger backing for its currency than US debt, and China brought in $158.8 billion in gold imports in the first eight months of this year alone.

As China trades less with the US, he says its reason to keep holding dollars keeps shrinking.

On a national debt that passed $40 trillion in August:

“There’s 40 trillion reasons to get rid of dollars.”
