Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi calls America’s relationship with Israel “parasitic.”

Abbas, you published an entire chart showing how many American interceptors were fired defending Israel. Somehow, you forgot to mention who fired the missiles they were intercepting.

Your regime did.

The largest entries on your chart correspond to Iranian ballistic missile attacks against Israel. You’re blaming America for the cost of defending its ally against your own attacks.

And your suggestion that America gets nothing in return from Israel is equally absurd.

Israel was the first country to use the F-35 in combat, providing billions in  operational experience for the Pentagon and Lockheed Martin. Israeli and American companies cooperate on Iron Dome, David’s Sling and Arrow missile defense systems.

Israeli intelligence has helped Washington track Iran, Hezbollah, ISIS and terrorist networks across the region, including exposing an ISIS laptop bomb plot targeting commercial airliners.

Replicating those intelligence capabilities independently would cost Washington billions. Much of America’s military assistance to Israel also flows back into American defense companies, factories and jobs.

Now comes the extraordinary part.

A senior official of the Islamic regime wants to lecture Americans about wasting taxpayer money.

Iran’s currency has collapsed, its oil industry is strangled by sanctions, and ordinary Iranians struggle with soaring prices and shortages.

Your government has killed its own citizens for protesting, crushed political opposition and poured billions into Hezbollah, the Houthis, Hamas and other armed groups.

You sit on some of the world’s largest oil and gas reserves, yet after nearly 5 decades of Islamic rule, your people are struggling to afford basic necessities. You can’t even export an ounce of oil. What sad case you are.

But somehow, there is always money for ballistic missiles, underground military facilities, foreign militias and another war.

Abbas, America invests in an ally that provides strategic value. Your regime takes wealth from its own people to finance organizations that deliver them nothing but isolation, poverty and war.
