US donates $1.4 million worth of vehicles and equipment to Armenia’s Border Guard Troops

The United States has donated vehicles and specialized equipment worth approximately $1.4 million to the Border Guard Troops of Armenia’s National Security Service.

The handover ceremony was attended by Shona Wilson, U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Security Assistance Programs; David Allen, Chargé d’Affaires of the U.S. Embassy in Armenia; and Colonel Roman Sahakyan, Chief of Staff of the Border Guard Troops of Armenia’s National Security Service.

The donation was provided through the U.S. Department of State’s Export Control and Related Border Security (EXBS) Program. It includes vehicles, ambulances, protective equipment, maintenance tools, and modern IT equipment for the Ayrum border crossing.

The equipment is expected to increase the crossing’s capacity, strengthen border management capabilities, and contribute to the ongoing modernization of Armenia’s Border Guard Troops.

Ermənistanın baş naziri Nikol Paşinyan bildirib ki, yolu azaraq ölkə ərazisinə daxil olan Azərbaycan vətəndaşı Azərbaycana qaytarılacaq. Paşinyan oktyabrın 22-də jurnalistlərə açıqlamasında bildirib ki, həmin şəxs sərhədi keçdikdən sonra Ermənistan hərbçiləri tərəfindən saxlanılaraq Milli Təhlükəsizlik Xidmətinə (MTX) təhvil verilib. “Dünyada elə bir sərhəd, təmas xətti və ya cəbhə xətti yoxdur ki, onu keçmək mümkün olmasın. Paşinyan oktyabrın 22-də jurnalistlərə açıqlamasında bildirib ki, həmin şəxs sərhədi keçdikdən sonra Ermənistan hərbçiləri tərəfindən saxlanılaraq Milli Təhlükəsizlik Xidmətinə (MTX) təhvil verilib.

“Dünyada elə bir sərhəd, təmas xətti və ya cəbhə xətti yoxdur ki, onu keçmək mümkün olmasın. Hərbçilər onun onlara doğru gəldiyini görüb, saxlayaraq Milli Təhlükəsizlik Xidmətinə təhvil veriblər. Onu Respublika meydanında saxlamayıblar. Həmin şəxs sərhədi keçib və biz onu qarşı tərəfə qaytarmalıyıq”, – Paşinyan bildirib.

Ermənistanın MTX-si daha əvvəl açıqlamışdı ki, oktyabrın 19-da saat 17:50 radələrində 1968-ci il təvəllüdlü, Tovuz rayonunun Çatax kənd sakini Yaşar Əli oğlu Qasımov Ermənistanın Tavuş vilayətində aşkarlanıb.

Qurumun məlumatına görə, aparılan yoxlama nəticəsində onun yolu azaraq Ermənistan ərazisinə daxil olduğu müəyyən edilib.

Oktyabrın 21-də Ermənistan mediası azərbaycanlı çobanın Tavuş vilayətində sərhədi keçərək saxlanıldığı barədə məlumat yaymışdı. Həmin vaxt Ermənistanın Milli Təhlükəsizlik Xidməti məlumatı nə təsdiqləmiş, nə də təkzib etmişdi.

Azərbaycan Dövlət Sərhəd Xidməti isə məsələ ilə bağlı rəsmi açıqlama verməyib, lakin yerli medialar qurumun bu informasiyanı təkzib etdiyini yazmışdı.

Ermənistanın xarici işlər naziri Ararat Mirzoyan oktyabrın 21-də parlamentdə çıxışı zamanı azərbaycanlı çobanın yolunu azmış ola biləcəyini deyərək bu cür halların hər iki tərəfdə baş verə biləcəyini qeyd etmişdi.

Mirzoyan həmçinin sərhəddə belə hadisələrin qarşısını tamamilə almağın çətin olduğunu bildirib, tərəflərin problemləri birgə həll etməsinə ümid etdiyini vurğulamışdı.
