Bronx News Today: Deadly Route 17 crash, South Bronx shooting and Mount Eden robbery


A driver has died after being found with a gunshot wound following a one-vehicle crash on the westbound upper level of the George Washington Bridge, while police in New Jersey say Bronx woman Krissian Reyes Rivera died after being struck following a crash on Route 17 and Estuardo Rodriguez was arrested and faces charges including death by auto and knowingly leaving the scene of an accident. Also in the morning headlines, a man was shot on Willis Avenue in the South Bronx, police are searching for three people after a robbery in Mount Eden, the FDNY is investigating a van fire in Tremont, and Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced $4.8 million for an expansion of the city’s Crisis Management System in Bushwick, Harlem, Washington Heights and Inwood.
