France is seeing another wave of violent unrest, and things have gotten particularly ugly at Place Bellecour in Lyon.
The city’s tourist office has caught fire, and local reports say hostile individuals are preventing firefighters from getting close enough to tackle the blaze.
Earlier, protesters blocked roads, clashed with police and were met with tear gas as demonstrations over living costs spread across the country.
People are angry about the cost of living. That’s understandable.
But firefighters aren’t politicians. They’re not responsible for anyone’s bills or government policies. They’re there to stop buildings from burning down.
When the people trying to save lives need police protection just to do their jobs, something has gone terribly wrong!
