Nearly 670,000 customers remained without power across Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi as of midday Saturday. Two of the deaths resulted from falling trees in Florida and Alabama.

Hazardous conditions persist with risks of storm surges, flash flooding, damaging winds and tornadoes across the Southeast. Recovery efforts are underway along the Gulf Coast, though further flooding remains possible over the next few days.

Joe Kent says the stories about the Trump administration reining Israel in could be about dodging blame when the next round hits, and he traces the war straight back to Israel:

“The Israelis did get us into this thing. They’ve taken every action to keep us into it.”

Joe Kent, the ex-Green Beret who ran the National Counterterrorism Center until March, says keeping the blockade, the sanctions and the threats in place has handed Iran every reason to move before that window closes:

“By remaining in the region and continuing the bellicose rhetoric, continuing the economic sanctions, keeping the blockade on, we basically have become a self-fulfilling prophecy.”

The White House now has to choose between absorbing a first strike or launching its own before Election Day.

Salmons was suspended two days after the session and was later found guilty of gross misconduct and placed on the Police Barred List, effectively preventing him from working in policing.

He appealed, and North Yorkshire Chief Constable Tim Forber subsequently concluded that his conduct did not amount to gross misconduct or breach professional standards, resulting in his removal from the barred list.

Salmons then brought legal claims alleging religious discrimination, harassment and violations of his freedoms of religion and expression. North Yorkshire Police settled the case before it reached an Employment Tribunal, with the amount remaining confidential.
