🇾🇪🇸🇦 Houthi forces are reportedly closing in on Taizz, Yemen’s third-largest city, as their offensive cuts the roads to Aden
A Houthi tank has reportedly been spotted operating southwest of the city and a column of fighters has reportedly entered As Safiyah, while the al-Turbah and Hayjat al-Abd roads, Taizz’s main lifeline south, are reportedly torn up by Houthi explosives and close to unusable.
Yemen’s army is now warning civilians to stay off any road the Houthis are using.
Taizz has lived under a partial siege since 2015, and losing its last good road out would trap hundreds of thousands of people just as Saudi Arabia is busy shooting Houthi drones out of its own sky.
Riyadh is being stretched on two fronts at once, and the Houthis are pressing exactly where it’s thinnest.
