Brandon Weichert spoke with French tech entrepreneur Brivael Le Pogam about the riots tearing through France and what they reveal about Europe’s future.

Le Pogam believes decades of expanding government, excessive regulation and failed immigration policies have pushed France toward a breaking point.

But his bigger concern is what comes next.

While America and China race ahead in AI, European entrepreneurs are buried in bureaucracy, discouraged from taking risks and increasingly moving their businesses abroad.

Le Pogam knows that frustration personally. He grew up in France but built his company’s headquarters in the United States.

And he doesn’t believe the current European Union can survive another five to ten years without fundamental change.

His argument is that AI will accelerate whatever system it encounters. Strong economies will become stronger. Dysfunctional ones could unravel even faster.

The interesting part is that Le Pogam isn’t pessimistic about Europe’s potential. He’s pessimistic about the people and institutions preventing it from being realized.

He believes Europe can still recover, but only if its governments are willing to dismantle much of what they’ve spent decades building.
