143-year-old town hall burned down as violent protests sweep France


An historic 140-year-old town hall in Limoges, France, was set ablaze during nationwide protests on Saturday (October 17), with part of its roof collapsing in the fire.

While hundreds of thousands of people took part in peaceful demonstrations across France, violent groups targeted public buildings, looted shops and attacked police.
