Day: October 19, 2026

In Ezra 3:10–11, the people rejoiced and praised God as they laid the foundation of the temple, giving thanks even though the work was not yet complete. Their example reminds us to be thankful for what God has already done, even while He is still working in us and through us. God has called us to do His work with grateful hearts in every season. Let’s give thanks to the Lord, for He is good and His love endures forever!

Vladimir Putin has reportedly proposed a high-stakes summit with Donald Trump and Xi Jinping to discuss ending the Ukraine war but Volodymyr Zelenskyy may be left out. The proposed meeting could take place on the sidelines of the APEC summit in Shenzhen, China, in November, although Trump has not agreed and the Kremlin says there is no clear plan yet. With US-Russia energy talks intensifying and fighting continuing on the ground, could Moscow be pushing a peace deal that sidelines Kyiv?
