France’s Prime Minister has called for curfews in several French cities following protests and riots

🇵🇭🇨🇳 The Philippines has summoned China’s ambassador after he warned Beijing could “easily win” a military conflict between the two countries.

Chinese Amb. Jing Quan made the remarks last week, telling Manila it should consider itself fortunate to have China as a neighbor.

“If we want to use force, we may easily win. But no, we will not choose force, and we love peace.”

The Philippine Foreign Ministry condemned his comments as provocative and unacceptable, while several senators called for his expulsion.

The confrontation follows clashes between Chinese and Philippine forces in parts of the South China Sea, where Beijing claims vast territories despite an international ruling rejecting the legal basis for its claims.
