Four people, including children ages 5, 8, and 11, and a teacher, were killed Thursday in a shooting at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon.

The 16-year-old suspected shooter also died after a community member who saw him enter the school pursued and shot him inside, Bend Police Chief Mike Cranston said.

An officer later entered the building and confirmed the suspect was dead.

A 7-year-old child and a 54-year-old teacher were critically injured and taken to St. Charles Bend.
