The comments come hours after Russia launched another deadly aerial attack targeting Ukrainian cities and power plants, in what Zelensky called a show of disregard for the Trump-backed truce.
BREAKING | 🇮🇷🇴🇲‼️ Two commercial cargo ships are reportedly sinking in separate incidents in the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman, as Iranian attacks continue to threaten maritime traffic despite President Donald Trump’s claims of U.S. control over the strategic waterway.
The vessel GPS PRIDE is reportedly sinking in the Strait of Hormuz. Iranian authorities initially claimed the ship had struck a naval mine while attempting to transit without permission. Reuters, however, has reported that the vessel was hit by missiles. Meanwhile, the bulk carrier CAPE DAO is reportedly sinking in the Gulf of Oman after allegedly being struck by multiple Iranian missiles. Reports also claim that more than 20 vessels have been sunk or severely damaged in the strait over recent days, although that figure remains unverified.
The two incidents, if accurately reported, would further underscore the continuing threat to commercial shipping in one of the world’s most important energy corridors. They also raise serious questions about Washington’s ability to guarantee safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz despite its declared military successes.
