Elon Musk has stepped up his push to bring Starlink to India, saying the satellite internet service would need to be affordable to compete with Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio.
Musk also criticised Ambani while calling for greater competition, arguing that more choices could benefit Indian consumers and expand internet access in underserved areas.
Starlink and Jio’s satellite internet venture are both awaiting final security clearance to launch in India. Jio Platforms, which owns the telecom business, is targeting a valuation of $106 billion in its planned IPO.
