🇾🇪 Houthi military media released footage on 11 October purportedly showing its fighters repelling a Southern Giants Brigades and Nation’s Shield advance from Lahij toward Al-Wazi’iyah’s highlands in Taiz. The group also claims control of Wadi Sharirah and surrounding heights toward Al-Shamayatayn.
Government-aligned reports separately claimed advances in Al-Wazi’iyah that day. The footage’s recording date and locations, and the extent of any territorial changes, remain independently unverified.

Russia-Ukraine War: At least three people have been killed and 25 others injured in a Russian missile strike on a residential area near Kharkiv. Among those killed were a 16-year-old boy, as well as a 19-year-old woman, and a 51-year-old woman, authorities said, in a strike that landed near a grocery store as well as several residential buildings. The injured victims, which included two girls aged 13 and 9, suffered a multitude of injuries and are receiving medical care. The extent of the injuries sustained was not immediately disclosed.

Somali-born Islamic content creator Muhammad Saifullah, who grew up in Manchester and now lives in Bristol, openly said he would impose executions for homosexuality and adultery and kill apostates and people who insult Islam’s Prophet Muhammad if he ruled Britain under Sharia law.
Asked whether homosexuals would be executed, Saifullah said “100%.” Asked how, he replied: “With a sword, cut his head off like that.” He also said adulterers would be “stoned to death.”
On apostates, he went even further: “Personally, with the apostates, I would torture them.” He said he would make their deaths “hell.”
Saifullah insisted these were genuinely his religious beliefs, saying: “This is Islam, and I’m proud of it.” He said he believes in it “to the letter” and would not change his beliefs to gain acceptance.
He also defended Osama bin Laden, describing him as a Muslim defending Islam and comparing the way Muslims view him with the way Britons historically viewed Richard the Lionheart. He ended his comments about bin Laden by saying: “May Allah have mercy on him.”
Asked about the Charlie Hebdo attackers, Saifullah rejected describing them as terrorists and said their actions were a religious matter and “a command from Allah.”
