During his visit to the Republic of Turkey, Zurab Pataradze, Chairman of the Government of Adjara, met with Tahir Şahin, Governor of Trabzon Province, accompanied by members of his delegation.
The Government of Adjara shared the glimpses of the meeting on its official Facebook Page on Friday, October 9, 2026. It also shared a brief note about the meeting alongside the glimpses.
The parties discussed new opportunities for regional cooperation within the framework of the strategic partnership between Georgia and Turkey. The parties noted that high-level political dialogue between the two countries’ leaders provides a solid foundation for expanding economic ties.
To activate contacts between the business communities of Adjara and Trabzon, the need for the systematic organization of business forums and investment activities was examined. It was noted that such large-scale platforms would create opportunities for companies to meet directly, explore investment potential, and discuss joint projects.
Zurab Pataradze thanked representatives of the diplomatic missions of Georgia and Turkey for their contributions to the development of bilateral relations. He also highlighted the role of Turkey’s Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) in strengthening business ties between Georgian and Turkish business communities.
In the delegation of the Adjara Government, Minister of Finance and Economy of Adjara Ednar Nataridze, Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Denis Salukvadze, and Mayor of Batumi Giorgi Tsintsadze, as well as chairman of the DEİK Turkey-Georgian Business Council Osman Çalışkan-Mzhavanadze and representatives of business circles were present.
