Iran has expanded its maritime operations beyond the Strait of Hormuz, with vessels now being targeted in both the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman. Over the past 24 hours, IRGC has struck 2 vessels including a VLCC near UAE and another vessel near Qatar. Both attacks took place outside the Strait of Hormuz. The latest attacks suggest the IRGC is no longer waiting for vessels to directly violate its designated routes. Ships suspected of helping to break Iran’s blockade could now be targeted across the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman as well.

NEW: Isaias strengthens into hurricane, barrels toward Gulf Coast


Hurricane Isaias has formed in the Gulf, becoming the first Atlantic hurricane of the 2026 season.

The storm, which is forecast to make landfall along the northern Gulf Coast later this week, packed winds of 75 miles per hour as of Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service. Heavy rain is expected to begin on Friday, with flash flooding, damaging wind gusts, storm surge, and tornadoes possible. Florida and Alabama have already declared a state of emergency.

High-rise building in Istanbul collapses, trapping people under rubble


A seven-story residential building has collapsed in the Maltepe district of the Turkish city of Istanbul, with rescuers arriving at the scene, Report informs citing TRT Haber.

According to available information, people might be trapped under the rubble.

Search and rescue operations have begun.

Information about possible casualties has not yet been received.
