The Chairman of the Government of Adjara, Zurab Pataradze, attended the event “History of Petra – Heritage of Centuries,” on Tuesday. The event was held at the Petra historical and cultural heritage site.
The Adjara Government shared the glimpses of the event along with a brief note on its official Facebook page on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
According to the brief note shared by the Adjara Government, it should be noted that along with the chairman of the Adjara Government, the Chairman of the Supreme Council, Tsotne Ananidze, was also present.
The representatives from various sectors of the region attended this large-scale event, which was organized at the initiative of Eliso Bolkvadze, the Minister of Culture of Adjara. More than 40,000 people have visited Petra Castle so far this year.
Cultural events like this help introduce our history and values to both young people and foreign visitors. “We continue to ensure a successful future for the country by promoting cultural heritage and fostering the active participation of young people,” said Zurab Pataradze.
The program aims to introduce the public to the centuries-old history and unique heritage of Petra Castle, while also engaging the younger generation. The event showcased photographs documenting the history of the Petra monument and displayed artifacts unearthed during archaeological studies.
This cultural and educational evening was held with the support of the Government of Adjara; it was organized by the Ministry of Culture of Adjara, the Cultural Heritage Protection Agency, and the Batumi State Music Center, with the involvement of the Kobuleti Municipality City Hall.
Participants of the event:
- leaders of the Adjara government, the High Council, and local self-government bodies;
- representatives from municipalities and city councils;
- officials from various public institutions;
- Revaz Nadaraya, Chairman of the Constitutional Court,
- Fuad Azizov, Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Batumi.
