JUST IN: Yemen’s Ansarullah forces have also captured the home of Saudi-backed PLC parliamentary speaker Sultan al-Barakani, just south of Taiz. Fighting around the key Yemeni city of Taiz has intensified as Ansarullah continues to advance toward the city, which is close to the main route toward the PLC capital of Aden. Ansarullah has made gains in the mountainous areas near Samoa, southwest of Taiz, and has taken control of Al-Safiya, cutting off an important supply route for Saudi-backed PLC forces in Taiz Governorate. Saudi airstrikes have so far failed to stop Ansarullah from advancing and capturing areas held by Saudi-backed forces.
