Donald Trump has said that the co-pilot who tried to hijack a plane heading for Israel was “perhaps a whack job”.
Asked whether the co-pilot intended to crash the aircraft, Trump stressed that the motive had not been established.

Trump has backed voluntary self-regulation by leading AI companies.
But Sens. Hawley (GOP) and Murphy (Dem) are preparing a bill that would impose civil AND criminal liability on companies when agents hack other systems.
The core idea is simple: if an autonomous AI causes damage, companies shouldn’t be able to escape responsibility by saying “AI did it.”
The battle over who is legally responsible when AI goes rogue is officially moving to Congress.
