The AZE-122 rocket was created by Azerbaijani graduates and young specialists who completed training in Türkiye, Azroksan CEO Mehmet Ali Tahancalio said at the ADEX 2026 defense exhibition in Baku, Report informs.
According to him, the entire process of producing the new rocket was carried out by personnel who finished a training program in Türkiye.
“We want not just to manufacture products, but to create a full-fledged defense industry ecosystem, forming a special work culture in this area. In this process, we have established close cooperation with Roketsan,” the CEO noted.
Flight FZ1073 was thrown into a violent descent after a violent attack inside the cockpit. Officials say the co-pilot stabbed the captain and attempted to take control, before passengers and crew helped overpower him.
The exact motive remains under investigation, but the significance of this goes far beyond aviation.
Modern security is largely designed to keep outsiders away from critical infrastructure: reinforced cockpit doors, secure military bases, restricted server rooms, and layers of screening.
But those defenses become FAR less useful when the threat is already trusted, credentialed, and inside.
Earlier extremist movements often relied on relatively cheap methods: radicalizing outsiders, smuggling weapons, or forcing their way into protected spaces.
A capable state, intelligence service, or well-funded proxy can play a much LONGER game: recruit someone who already has access…
That could be a pilot, an engineer, a contractor, a military technician, or a systems administrator. Instead of defeating the security perimeter, they simply arrive with permission to cross it.
There’s currently no evidence Iran or any other foreign state orchestrated the FlyDubai incident.
But states such as Iran possess intelligence networks, proxies, money, and patience on a completely different scale from the non-state threats that shaped much of post-9/11 security.
That changes the question from “How do we stop someone from getting in?” to “How do we know the person already inside can still be trusted?”
After 9/11, the answer was to make cockpit doors almost impossible to open from the cabin.
But yesterday, with the threat coming from within, we’re very lucky the door managed to be opened…
