President Ilham Aliyev has addressed participants of the first CICA Media Forum in Baku, held under the theme “Building Trust through Media in a Polarized World.”
In his address, read out by Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmat Hajiyev, Aliyev highlighted the role of media in strengthening public trust, mutual understanding and regional cooperation, while stressing the need to combat disinformation and AI-generated fake content.
He also called for stronger cooperation among media organisations, digital platforms, journalists, scholars and civil society to promote reliable information, media literacy and responsible use of new technologies.

Russia has warned NATO that it could resort to its full arsenal, including nuclear weapons, if the alliance attempts to isolate the Russian exclave of Kaliningrad, according to a diplomatic note reviewed by Reuters. Moscow accused NATO of pursuing a course that could trigger direct armed conflict and cited military activity around the Baltic region. NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte rejected the warning, saying the alliance is defensive and urging Russia to stop its nuclear threats. Rutte also said there was no imminent threat to NATO territory and argued that NATO remains significantly stronger than Russia. Kaliningrad, located between NATO members Poland and Lithuania, remains a major strategic flashpoint in the Baltic.
