Russian President Vladimir Putin paid his respects to longtime ally and former Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov at a farewell ceremony in Moscow, laying flowers beside his coffin and meeting with his family. Ivanov, who died at age 73, was a former KGB official and one of Russia’s most influential security figures, helping shape the country’s defense and security policies during the early years of Putin’s presidency.

Reps. Mike Lawler (R-NY) and Jamie Raskin (D-MD) got into a shouting match during a Judiciary subcommittee hearing on sanctuary policies Tuesday.

During witness introductions, Rep. Lawler called for the elimination of sanctuary policies, which limit the extent to which state and local governments cooperate with federal immigration enforcement.

“The same outrage you feel about Renee Good and Alexi Pretti you should feel about Sheridan Gorman and Laken Riley and every ‘Angel Family’ in this country,” Rep. Lawler said.

“I do feel that outrage!” Rep. Raskin replied.

The exchange quickly escalated into an angry dispute.

“You should be ashamed of yourself, Jamie! You’re a disgrace,” Rep. Lawler yelled.

“You don’t belong in this committee,” Rep. Raskin shot back. “You should get the hell out of here!”
