8. SOT Janese Combs (designer’s mother) “It was just a great, great show. And a lot people enjoyed it because of course I was looking around to see the expressions, and how people were feeling it, and they were loving it…’
9. SOT Lauren Ezersky, Fashion Editor : ‘I don’t know what his name is now…P. Diddy, Sean John, I-have-I-guess-to-get-it-together. But his clothes are always together. You know, he always does a really good look that kind of runs the edge between fashion, style, but yet wearability.”

11. SOT Sean Combs (P Diddy): “I’m happy with the collection every year, but I can’t lie, this one I worked the hardest. I felt lot of the pressure, and I felt like fashion needed some flavour. You know, I felt lot of people were taking a back shit, and wanted to try to be extra subdued, because of what happened September the 11th. And you know, I’m a fighter, Americans were are fighters. New Yorker, we are fighters. And we still look good as we rebuild.”

14. SOT Gary Graham:”The theme of my show is…pretty dark, a lot of dark colors but a lot of light colors too, pretty organic colors, taken from nature, but a little industrialized. So, I kind a start with colors and then my shapes have a lot of buggy stuff, a lot of really fitted stuff, lot of natural fabrics, cottons, silk, linen, all hand dyed, but with an edge.’

STORYLINE:
NEW YORK FASHION WEEK IN FULL SWING
The scaled-down New York Fashion Week reached its second day. This season many designers either cancelled their shows, or showed their creations in their own showrooms rather than the Bryant Park tents, due to the economic recession.
But for Sean Combs, formerly known till last year as Puff Daddy, and now as P.Diddy, money is no object. He spent $1.24 million in staging a 25-minute fashion extravaganza at the upscale Cipriani restaurant. Massive theatrical curtains, custom hardwood bleachers, and a state of the art video and sound installation transformed the venue to a glamorous runway event in order to accommodate ‘la creme de la creme’ of the fashion and music industry.
Many remember Sean Combs in a New York criminal court, where last year he was charged of carrying a concealed weapon in a nightclub. But last Thursday, he was the center of attention, when he rang the opening bell at the New York Stock Exchange. He was planning in having his show in Paris this year, but after the tragic events last September, he decided it is more important to support the local economy and be in New York rather than anywhere else. Combs’ collections are sold in 1,200 stores across the United States, and last year had a revenue of over $200 million, according to the privately held company.
Last Saturday night, Sean John’s collection for Fall 2002 received a standing ovation. His fitted double face cashmere evening coats, silk velvet tuxedos and, Saville Row cashmere suits got everybody by surprise. His last seasons’ trade marked oversized pants, bulky shearling coats, and flashy logos gave way to slick and understated creations.
