🇮🇱 I showed Joseph Cohen videos of SETTLERS entering Palestinian property, HARASSING locals, and asked the question I keep coming back to:
HOW MUCH of this violence creates the very radicalization Israel then says it has to fight?
Joseph pushed back hard.
His argument is that these clips are often presented without enough context, and that even the term “settler violence” can lump very different incidents together.
“Every video you showed and every video you described has been filmed by an activist to convey a political message.”
Does that make the footage meaningless?
It does force a harder question though: are we seeing the conflict itself, or the version of it someone chose to frame for us?

Mario Nawfal (@MarioNawfal)🇮🇱 The part of Gaza I’m struggling with most right now is this:
Israeli politicians are talking more openly about Palestinians leaving, while Gaza itself has become almost impossible to live in.
If you destroy most of a place, then start offering people money to leave it, how voluntary is that really?
Joseph’s answer is that the destruction has to be understood in the context of how Hamas fought the war.
“They turned Gaza into a battle arena that they designed.”
That doesn’t resolve the question for me.
But it does get to the heart of the disagreement: whether Palestinians are being pushed out by design, or whether we’re looking at the consequences of the battlefield Hamas created.
