Mike talks about his time at Fort Dix and his recollections of meeting and speaking with Sean “Diddy” Combs through the RDAP program. He explains how guys fought in RDAP and handled situations. Mike also says Diddy’s first cellmate in the program was Munchy, a Baltimore man from my home state of Maryland.
We get into what Mike says he saw on the yard, how inmates treated Diddy, how correctional officers treated him, and what daily life and safety were like at Fort Dix. We also discuss prison culture, whether inmates feel pressure to carry weapons, Mike’s first bunkie and the “penitentiary mindset,” inmates serving life sentences, and the reputation some D.C. inmates have in federal prison.
Mike shares his perspective on the fight connected to Diddy’s removal from RDAP, the man he says was involved, and whether he thinks prison officials will keep Diddy at Fort Dix.
We also discuss the TMZ story claiming Diddy was caught with homemade wine. Mike disputes that report, saying Diddy was not caught with homemade wine. Mike says that if Diddy had been caught, he would have been kicked out of the RDAP program. He explains why he believes that accusation was serious.
Plus: cell phones in prison—the cost, how inmates try to get them, what can happen if someone is caught, and the pros and cons. We also discuss Fort Dix’s camera coverage and Mike’s experience in Fulton County Jail during the YSL trial.
These are Mike’s personal recollections and opinions from the interview. References to incidents and media reports are presented as his account, not as independently verified findings.
