🚨🇨🇦 4 people died after a private helicopter crashed and burst into flames in a field southeast of Montreal today.
The aircraft ran into trouble shortly after takeoff near Sainte-Brigide-d’Iberville, about 50 km from the city, and all 4 occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
Pilot Suzanne Jutras, 50, had more than 500 hours of flight experience. Canada’s Transportation Safety Board has sent investigators to the site.

Neria Leiter, the son of Israel’s Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter, was critically wounded in a Palestinian car-ramming attack at a checkpoint near Modi’in, between Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
Leiter, an IDF reservist and American citizen, was serving alongside a police officer when the attacker rammed a police patrol vehicle. He suffered a serious head injury and was evacuated unconscious, sedated and ventilated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem.
The attacker was identified as 29-year-old Mahmoud Muhammad Mahmoud Suleiman, a Palestinian from Beit Ur al-Tahta. Israeli forces shot and killed him at the scene.
“Neria needs a miracle,” Ambassador Leiter said, adding that he was grateful to the IDF and the medical team “fighting to save” his son’s life.
Neria has served hundreds of days in the reserves on multiple fronts since October 7, according to his father.
The family has already lost another son in the war. Neria’s older brother, Maj. Moshe Yedidya Leiter, 39, a reserve company commander and father of six, was killed while fighting in northern Gaza on November 10, 2023.
Ambassador Leiter is now returning to Israel from the United States and will not accompany Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to the UN General Assembly on Thursday.
