What do the deleted Snapchat messages mean in the Nolan Wells case?
In this livestream, Attorney Symone breaks down the phone-forensics testimony surrounding Snapchat deletions reportedly found on Nolan Wells’s phone. We’ll discuss Nolan’s reported last phone use around 2:17–2:18 p.m., what “user interactions” mean in digital forensics, and whether deleted Snapchat content necessarily proves that Nolan—or anyone physically holding his phone—deleted the messages.
We’ll also examine other possibilities, including remote deletion by message senders, Snapchat’s automatic deletion or retention settings, group-chat activity, and synchronization after the phone was last used. Most importantly, we’ll discuss what the forensic evidence can—and cannot—establish about who initiated the deletions, when they occurred, and why.
This discussion is based on publicly discussed testimony and available case information. The existence of deleted messages does not, by itself, prove who deleted them, that someone accessed Nolan’s phone, or that any individual committed a crime.
