🇵🇰 Pakistan is cracking down hard ahead of Imran Khan’s march on Islamabad, and 2 families tied to his party say they were targeted.

Punjab PTI leader Raja Shahbaz Bhatti says police broke down his gate and searched his home last night.

Separately, KPK Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati says his nephew, Kamal Saleem Swati, survived a deadly attack and an attempted kidnapping, and has released CCTV footage of the incident.

The march, which is planned for Sunday, is demanding Khan’s release, and the government is pulling out every stop to keep it from happening.

Punjab, Pakistan’s most populous province, has banned any gathering of 5 or more people in public for the next 13 days, citing intelligence warnings of possible suicide bombings and car bombs at large crowds.

Islamabad is already on lockdown, mobile and internet service is set to be cut in neighboring Rawalpindi, and reports say roads into the capital will be blocked with shipping containers and trenches, with bus routes suspended.

For a march the government says it isn’t worried about, it’s going to a lot of trouble.

Ret. U.S. Admiral Mark Montgomery says the damage is already done, with foreign military sales delayed for months and no end in sight.

“It’s conceding to China the idea that whether or not we support Taiwan is something China can bribe or barter us into doing by offering minor economic concessions.

Taiwan is as important a trade partner to the U.S. as China.”

Taiwan’s security should never be a line item in a trade negotiation.
