The EU is extending sanctions on over 3,000 individuals for 36 months — until 2029. So no one can hijack the package every six months.
The price: Alisher Usmanov and Mikhail Fridman are removed.

Three capitals pulled the rope. France wanted Usmanov gonenational security. Luxembourg wanted Fridman gone  he’s suing the country for billions. Slovakia demanded the same logic. The Baltics and Nordics warned it opens the door for more. Latvia abstained so the package wouldn’t collapse at midnight.
