A 29-year-old Turkish migrant living in Germany was arrested after invoking Sharia law to refuse to sit next to a woman during a flight that landed at Düsseldorf Airport on June 1.
According to German police, when a female flight attendant tried to resolve the situation, the man punched her in the face.
After landing in Düsseldorf, he was arrested. Police said he later confessed to the assault, but only after insulting federal officers in Turkish, apparently unaware that one of the officers also spoke Turkish.
