The Prime Minister has begun preparing the Government’s program, which will be presented to the public and to MPs. The approach to governance will be as pragmatic as possible – every minister and every head of a central government body will bear personal responsibility for carrying out the tasks designated as priorities. Sergii has every opportunity to shape a government policy and a central executive team capable of strengthening our state.
The Prime Minister and I also discussed the appointment of Ukraine’s Acting Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defense. A critical priority is preparation for the heating season. In particular, Sergii reported that Naftogaz’s independent Supervisory Board had agreed to appoint Sergii Fedorenko to lead the company for a fixed term. He is a highly qualified professional who went through Ukrnafta’s transformation alongside Sergii Koretskyi. It was a successful process of cleansing all the company’s internal operations of marauding oligarchic influence, and as a result, Ukrnafta became one of the most profitable state-owned companies.
Work to restore the energy infrastructure following the Russian attacks is also continuing around the clock. Today, the Russians again attacked Naftogaz facilities – unfortunately, there is significant damage. The Prime Minister and I discussed the steps needed under these circumstances. It is important that, despite the ongoing Russian attacks, we implement everything we agreed on to prepare for the winter. Glory to Ukraine!
