Day: July 5, 2026

President Trump is expected to hold a “long” speech on the National Mall Saturday evening as the U.S. marks its 250th anniversary, even as record heat threatens to upend the festivities.

Other July 4 activities throughout the day in Washington include military flyovers, performances by the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels and Air Force Thunderbirds, musical performances, speeches from Trump administration officials and a fireworks show, among other events.

The president’s remarks are scheduled for 10:30 p.m. EDT.

Coverage of the celebration, including Trumps “Great American State Fair,” begins at 1 p.m. EDT.

Keith Edwards reacts to the absolute humiliation capping off the nation’s 250th anniversary, breaking down the historic visual of Donald Trump fast asleep while 850,000 fireworks exploded directly overhead. Keith exposes the pure irony of a commander-in-chief who just delivered an unhinged political lecture, only to slump forward in total physical exhaustion while the Secret Service frantically tries to block the cameras from catching the commander-in-chief completely checked out.
