The development of long range weapons in Ukraine, hitting rus refineries etc, is also having a huge impact.Russia need to be forced into a chokehold that slows their ability to wage war.

Russia and Belarus are among the top countries with the highest number of jailed journalists
As of December 1, a total of 503 journalists are imprisoned, according to the 2025 report by the international NGO Reporters Without Borders on violations of press freedom.
China holds the largest number, with 121 journalists behind bars. Russia ranks second with 48, followed by Myanmar with 47. Russia also detains the highest number of foreign journalists, including 26 Ukrainians.
