According to a release from the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, due to the threat of drone and ballistic missile attacks, the embassy is directing personnel to shelter in place. Per the release, “U.S. government employees and their family members [must] shelter in place, and be prepared to move to a protected shelter in the event of a red alert, until further notice.”
Additionally, the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem and the branch office in Tel Aviv will be closed tomorrow due to recent events.

For the first time since the ceasefire, Iran launched ballistic missiles toward northern Israel after senior Iranian officials threatened a “painful and decisive” response. Sirens sounded across northern Israel, residents were ordered into protected spaces, and Israel’s air defense systems — including Arrow and Iron Dome — were activated against the Iranian threat.
Israeli Air Force jets are launching strikes against Iran after Israel made clear that any missile fire from Iranian territory would be answered with full military force. The IDF Chief of Staff held a special situational assessment and emphasized that Israel is prepared for both defense and offense, with all air defense systems on high alert.
Hours before the Iranian missile fire, Israel struck Hezbollah command centers in the Dahiyeh district of Beirut for the first time since the recent restrictions from Washington. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said the strike came in response to Hezbollah fire toward northern Israel. Israeli officials say the United States was updated before the strike.
The target in Beirut was reportedly an apartment used by Hezbollah terrorists as a command site for planning attacks against Israeli territory. Israel is sending a clear message: if Hezbollah continues firing toward the Galilee, Israel will strike Hezbollah’s strongholds in Dahiyeh again.
Iran threatened Israel and the United States after the Beirut strike, with Iranian officials warning that any expansion of Israeli attacks in Lebanon would bring “crushing and painful blows.” Now, after ballistic missiles were launched toward Israel, the question is clear: is the Middle East sliding back into full-scale war?
