Day: November 5, 2026
Russia’s airspace is closed to most Western airlines. Iran and much of the Middle East became a no-go zone in 2026. Ukraine has been closed since 2022. So the busiest air route between two continents now depends on a gap over Georgia and Azerbaijan, squeezed between some of the most tense borders on Earth.
In this video:
• The three walls that closed the old highways (MH17, Russia’s closed sky, Iran)
• The “Ganja gap” and why traffic over Azerbaijan jumped about 60% in two years
• The AZAL crash, the Nakhchivan drone strikes and why safety agencies watch this corridor
• Afghanistan: the airspace with no air traffic control at all
• Why Chinese airlines still get the shortcut over Siberia
• What happens if the needle closes too
