🇺🇸 🇮🇷 The next US strike on Iran was planned down to the day… then pushed back a week or two at the last minute.
Amos Hochstein, a former senior envoy in the Biden White House, says the target packages were ready and allies had been told exactly when, until a weekend notice put it on hold.
The delay didn’t change the decision, and he says the push isn’t coming from Israel:
“This is entirely out of White House pressure to do it.”
A plan that’s already finished can come off the shelf the moment the order is given, so the next couple of weeks are the window to watch.

Mario Nawfal (@MarioNawfal)🇺🇸🇮🇷 The Iran strike was set for this week, allies had the day, and then Trump postponed it at the last minute
Amos Hochstein says the target packages were built, regional allies were briefed on when the hit was coming, and the White House pulled it over the weekend for a week or two, which changes the calendar but not the decision.
Why? Trump was promised the embargo would break Tehran in months, it hasn’t, and the only three paths left are wait, cut the deal that was on the table in June, or widen the strikes to include civilian infrastructure.
Amos says the White House chose the third, and he rejects the idea Israel drove it:
“I’m not a buyer of the Israel piece.”
So the midterm wipeout may slow the trigger, but the bombs are still loaded, and the only exit that actually drops gas prices is the deal nobody wants to sign.
