Freedom of choice is one of the foundations of human dignity, and the influence of artificial intelligence on people’s thinking and decision-making could pose a serious threat to this value, Maiko Ichihara, a professor of international relations at Japan’s Hitotsubashi University, said.
According to Report, she noted that artificial intelligence, particularly chatbots, could have a significant impact on people’s thinking, decisions and behaviour.
The professor stressed that issues surrounding the regulation of large language models (LLMs), as well as determining who controls these systems and for what purposes, are becoming increasingly important. She also highlighted the risk of using artificial intelligence to conduct influence operations and advance the interests of particular groups.
In her view, social media algorithms contribute to the spread of emotionally charged content that can shape people’s political views. The professor believes these processes deepen social polarization, undermine mutual respect between social groups and erode trust between countries.
The paintings at the National Gallery of Armenia will now be restored under entirely different conditions. Thanks to the financial support of benefactor Karen Vardanyan, the Restoration Department has undergone a complete renovation and has been furnished and equipped with the necessary modern equipment.
As part of the project, a total of 316 items of equipment, tools and related accessories of 54 different names have been purchased. In addition, three specialists have had the opportunity to undergo professional training in Lithuania and the Russian Federation.
Benefactor Karen Vardanyan donated 122 million drams to implement this project, which aims to restore and preserve Armenia’s cultural heritage.

🇺🇸 A STATEWIDE ballot printing malfunction in Montana could leave voters facing long lines on Election Day, with election workers forced to HANDWRITE information normally printed automatically.
The problem began Friday and has affected the system used to print ballot identification labels, including voters’ names and ballot numbers.
In Yellowstone County, election officials are warning that anyone registering, updating their details or requesting a replacement ballot at the last minute should expect delays.
Workers have introduced a backup procedure, but manually processing ballots could become increasingly difficult if turnout surges.
And with Americans heading to the polls across the country today, the bigger question is whether similar technical failures could create bottlenecks in other states.
With turnout expected to be high, even small disruptions to election infrastructure could quickly translate into hours of waiting, overwhelmed polling stations and voters struggling to cast their ballots before polls close.
