🇺🇸🇮🇷 The U.S. hit an Iranian island in the Strait of Hormuz overnight, and oil barely blinked.
Brent crude is sitting at $106 a barrel this morning after crashing 7.6% yesterday.
What sparked the selloff? Iran’s president said the supreme leader had given his government more room to negotiate a deal with the U.S.
Just last week, traders were panicking over a fresh wave of U.S. and Israeli strikes and pushed Brent close to $118.
Trump has since ruled out any big new strikes before today’s midterms, and Washington is calling last night’s hit a defensive measure.
Bombs used to send oil flying, but 8 months into the war, traders have officially stopped flinching.

🇬🇧 Testimony from a woman who was subjected to a machete attack in Manchester on Sunday with her boyfriend and best friend.
The man who “couldn’t speak a word of English” robbed the friend before taking a machete to the face of her boyfriend, scarring him for life.
You can hear the despair in the young woman’s voice, with her having no doubt about the kind of danger she’ll be in for the rest of her life if she stays in the area.
