Jet- powered drones fly at rates of up to 600 kilometers per hour and Ukrainian interceptor drones have historically struggled to intercept them. Ukraine has continued to prioritize the domestic production of jet-powered interceptor drones in recent months to counter Russia’s advantage with jet-powered drones, which may in part explain an increased Ukrainian jet-powered drone interception rate in October 2026.Institute for the Study of War (@TheStudyofWar)NEW: Russia continued to intensify its long-range strike campaign against Ukraine in October 2026, particularly exploiting jet-powered drones and quasi-cruise missiles to maximize civilian harm. Russia’s increasingly devastating strikes come against the backdrop of Putin’s evolving theory of victory that hinges on the effectiveness of Russia’s long-range strike campaign to make Ukrainian civilian life untenable and to disrupt and isolate the Ukrainian economy from Europe.—  https://x.com/TheStudyofWar/status/2117465929046999192

Stevens endorses Rogers in dramatic shift ahead of election day

Republican Mike Rogers and Democrat Abdul El-Sayed made final campaign stops Monday, hours before Election Day, as a late endorsement by Michigan Rep. Haley Stevens injected new tension into a closely watched U.S. Senate race.

Rogers leaned into Stevens’ backing at a rally, calling her decision courageous. Stevens, a Democrat who lost to El-Sayed in the August primary, endorsed Rogers on Sunday — a dramatic reversal less than two days before voters go to the polls.
