The official insists that Iran’s conditions must be met before the Strait of Hormuz reopens, with negotiations over its nuclear program only taking place afterward.

Washington, meanwhile, wants unrestricted shipping through Hormuz and has continued pressing Tehran to abandon uranium enrichment and dismantle key nuclear infrastructure.
