Campaigns and outside groups have spent $173 million this election on almost entirely NEGATIVE ads about data centers.
Democrats account for $140 million of that spending.
Republicans: $28 million.
More than half of the money, about $95 million, is concentrated in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
And when Axios asked AdImpact to identify a single ad making an overtly positive case for data centers, it couldn’t find one.
Even in Ohio, Democrats have spent nearly $28 million attacking data centers while Republicans have spent zero.
AI was supposed to be the next great economic boom.
So why are politicians spending this much money convincing voters to fear the infrastructure behind it?
